New Director of Communications joins bishop’s staff
We are pleased to introduce Maggie Michaud as the new part-time Director of Communications beginning in 2013. Maggie will have responsibility for the website and integrating it with social media, developing a new diocesan magazine to replace the newspaper, email blasts, and assisting parishes with their communications.
I currently live in Salisbury, where I have been a proud Episcopalian for as long as I can remember. I recently graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., with a degree in Sociology and Women and Gender Studies. These majors have shown me to look beyond myself and ask what others think. I was recently the secretary at St. Andrew’s Somerset Parish in Princess Anne, where I compiled the newsletter and updated the website. I will
now take this knowledge and experience and showcase it through the diocese to work to make communications easier.
By working with communications in the diocese, I want to create a relationship with the parishes and clergy that will allow for information to be seen by all. One of the first things I’ll be doing is making links with a communications person in each parish. I will work on several vehicles of communication, especially the website, and use suggestions from the parishes themselves to make it useful and accessible for everyone.
I plan to showcase the diocese through various forms of media, allowing visitors and current members of the diocese to learn what is happening. I wish to allow information to be accessible and enjoyed by everyone and I am excited to work with the Diocese of Easton in communications.

Congratulations, Maggie. Good news that you’re DoE’s new Communications Officer. If you need to learn any of the shortcuts (some longcuts, too) between Salisbury and Easton let me know, because I’ve tried them all.
Cheers!
Reese
