Parish Discernment Information Day Toolkit

Each parish and mission in the Diocese of Easton is asked to schedule a Parish Discernment Information Day by September 29, 2026 to educate clergy and laity about church structures and the current state of the Diocese of Easton with the objective that everyone in the Diocese of Easton will have a shared baseline of information from which we can then collectively discern our future as the Episcopal Church on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

This would involve watching the Discernment video:  What is a Diocese? and then engaging in conversations using discussion questions provided, and then report what was discussed in forms that are returned to the Diocese of Easton’s Discernment Committee to analyze and plan next steps.  Please download the materials and set a date for your information day, which could be coming together after services to view the video and engage in conversations.  Those who cannot make the information day may still view the video and submit their answers to the discussion questions on the feedback button.
