Children’s Home Foundation

The Children’s Home Foundation is a diocesan wide effort to provide need based funds for local students wishing to pursue technical, job or career training.  Our mission is to support and encourage those students seeking skills that will lead them directly into the work force.

The majority of our students are recent high school graduates but we also assist non-traditional students or those not-so-recent graduates looking to re-enter the labor market. Our scholarship students study nursing, electronics, childcare, welding, graphic arts, hospitality and a variety of other certificate programs with most attending our local community colleges.

Recognizing younger students, CHF offers summer campership funds. Children needing assistance to attend an overnight or day camp are encouraged to apply.

Scholarship applications are in all high schools throughout the Diocese. Our Board works closely with public high school guidance counselors. Summer camperships are handled by the CHF Director of the child’s home county.

Children’s Home Foundation has one direct appeal drive each year in November. For over fifty years, generous contributions from parishes and individuals have enabled the CHF to help hundreds of our local students pursue their dreams. On their behalf, we thank the community for the continued spiritual and financial support.

The 2016-2017 appeal-letter is available online.
