At our annual Diocesan Convention, we set ministry priorities and are governed by the deliberations of our Diocesan Convention, held annually at the end of February. Here you’ll find information about pre-convention meetings, resolutions, nominees for office, registration, and schedule, as well as follow-up about the bishop’s address and budget.
Diocesan Convention 2016 will be held February 26 and 27, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency, Cambridge Md.

The theme of convention this year will be focusing on the implementation of our discernment resolutions in 2015. Our special guest will be the Rt. Rev. Martin Wharton, Bishop of Newcastle (Ret.) of the Church of England. He studied at Durham and Oxford Universities and served as Bishop of Newcastle upon Tyne from 1997-2013.
Bishop Wharton and Bishop Parsley served together on the Board of the Colleges and Universities of the Anglican Communion (CUAC) for many years. He will give the Homily at the opening Holy Eucharist of convention and offer a presentation on church collaboration from his experience in the North of England. For his extraordinary episcopal leadership, Bishop Wharton was recognized by the Queen as a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in 2012.
Any member of the diocese is welcome to join in convention as a guest, for part or all of the gathering.
