Constitution and Canons
The constitution and canons of the diocese shape the life of our community. The constitution establishes foundational principles, and the canons define how those principles are implemented.
Amendments to the constitution must pass in two consecutive diocesan conventions, while changes to the canons become effective after only one vote. The current constitution and canons were approved at the 2019 convention.
The Constitution and Canons Review Task Force completed their work in 2021. The Constitutions and Canons Committee, after a year of feedback, submitted a final document with amendments to Convention in March 2022. The Committee is pleased to present the results of the 2022 Convention Vote:
