Overview
The Episcopal Church of the Eastern Shore of Maryland gathers once a year to govern the parishes that make up the Diocese of Easton. We worship, we celebrate, we listen, we speak, we debate, and we vote. It is an important event with much work that needs to be done. It is also where the Bishop makes his annual address. Diocesan Convention is a balance between being the church and dreaming the church, and there is a time and place for both.
Each church in the Diocese selects delegates and alternates to represent them, along with clergy, on behalf of their parish. Delegates and canonically resident clergy are authorized to vote. All these individuals will participate in the 2025 Convention.
The 157th Annual Diocesan Convention will once again be a hybrid format. We will convene via Zoom on the evening of Thursday, March 6th. We will gather together in-person, with those who can join us, for a Friday evening, March 7th Eucharist at Christ Church, Kent Island followed by a reception. On Saturday, March 8th, our in-person portion of convention will re-convene at Christ Church, Kent Island.
Registration Information
Delegates, alternates and canonically resident clergy (those authorized with voice, OR voice & vote) are encouraged to register as soon as possible for the upcoming Diocesan Convention. Others are welcome to register as guests (guests do not have voice or vote in business sessions).
Hotel Accommodations Available on Friday, March 7th
There is a limited number of rooms reserved for us at a special convention rate of $159 plus taxes at the Hilton Garden Inn Kent Island Marina located at 3206 Main Street, Grasonville, MD 21638 on March 7th. To register, please complete the following steps:

- DOE Convention 2025 Rules of Order (Please review before registering. Clergy & Delegates will be prompted to vote to approve during the registration process).
- Should you need to switch-out an Alternate for one of your Delegates, PLEASE contact Lynn Anstatt as soon as you know. It will be difficult to process any changes the morning of convention.
